What We Believe

This site reads Scripture from a Free Grace perspective. Here is what that means in plain words.

Eternal life is a free gift

Jesus promises everlasting life to the person who believes in Him for it. It is His gift, not a reward we earn.

Read John 3:16, John 6:47, and Romans 4:5.

Faith alone receives it

We do not have to clean up our lives, perform a ceremony, or prove ourselves worthy before we can receive eternal life. We believe Jesus and His promise.

Read Ephesians 2:8-9 and Acts 16:31.

Christ gives us assurance

Everlasting life lasts forever. A believer can know now that he or she has it because Jesus is trustworthy, not because anyone's performance is perfect.

Read John 10:28-29 and 1 John 5:13.

Good works still matter

We are saved for a life of love and service. Good works help other people, show our faith in action, and matter in our growth as disciples. They do not buy or keep eternal life.

Read Ephesians 2:10, James 2:14-18, and 1 Corinthians 3:12-15.

The Bible text is separate from these explanations. Please read each passage in its chapter and tell Richard if you think a study note gets something wrong.
