His Arm, Not Ours His right hand and His holy arm have worked salvation. The grammar itself preaches grace: the arm that did the saving is His, and we did not lift a finger to earn it. This is why the song is new and the joy is unforced. When we forget it, worship grows heavy, as though we were forever paying God back. Some object that surely we must contribute something. The verse leaves no room: the work is finished by His arm alone. Ephesians 2:8 and 9 say the same, that we are saved by grace through faith, not of works, so no one can boast. Rest in a rescue already accomplished, and let the new song rise.
2 Yahweh has made known his salvation. He has openly shown his righteousness in the sight of the nations.
3 He has remembered his loving kindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Anchored in His Faithfulness He remembered His loving kindness and His faithfulness toward the house of Israel. God did not save because Israel finally earned it but because He keeps His promises. This is the heartbeat of assurance. Our security never rests on how steady our love for God is, because our love wobbles. It rests on how steady His love is, and His does not wobble. If you have ever feared losing your standing on a bad day, this verse is your medicine. 2 Timothy 2:13 says even when we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. The salvation He worked He also announced openly, and it reaches to all the ends of the earth.
4 Make a joyful noise to Yahweh, all the earth! Burst out and sing for joy, yes, sing praises!
5 Sing praises to Yahweh with the harp, with the harp and the voice of melody.
6 With trumpets and sound of the ram’s horn, make a joyful noise before the King, Yahweh.
7 Let the sea roar with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell therein.
8 Let the rivers clap their hands. Let the mountains sing for joy together.
9 Let them sing before Yahweh, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.
