4 Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation continually say, “Let God be exalted!”
5 But I am poor and needy. Come to me quickly, God. You are my help and my deliverer. Yahweh, don’t delay.

Poor And Needy, The Posture Grace Loves But I am poor and needy. The psalm ends with no boasting, no list of good deeds offered as a bargaining chip, just poverty, need, and trust. This is precisely the posture grace loves. Jesus opened the Beatitudes with blessed are the poor in spirit (Matthew 5:3), and told of a needy tax collector who went home justified while the self-confident man did not. The gift of God is never sold to the strong and the qualified; it is given freely to those who admit they have nothing to trade. If you come to God with empty hands and simply call on him, you are not disqualified. You are exactly the kind of person the free gift of eternal life was meant for.
